Racing for Cancer, a 501(c)(3) non-profit public charity was founded by 2012 IndyCar Champion and 2014 Indy 500 Champion Ryan Hunter-Reay after his mother’s passing from cancer in 2009. Since 2010 they have been bringing motorsports fans, teams, drivers and sponsors together to join in the global fight to beat cancer. Fundraising efforts are directed towards early detection and prevention as well as childhood cancer initiatives.  Since it’s inception Racing for Cancer has donated over $4 million, with its partners, to various cancer initiatives, charities, clinics and cancer centers. They recently unveiled the AutoNation/Hunter-Reay Research Lab at NOVA Southeastern University. “Our team at Racing for Cancer, along with AutoNation, are working hard to bring us closer to finding a cure for cancer,” says Hunter-Reay.

Toronto’s James Hinchcliffe, 5 time IndyCar winner and 100th Indy 500 Pole Sitter, has teamed up with Ryan Hunter-Reay to host The RALLY Toronto. James’ mother, Arlene Hinchcliffe - president of the Waldenstrom’s Macroglobulinemia Foundation of Canada (WMFC), hosts Educational Forums, provides support services and has provided over $500 000 in funding for research into managing and curing blood cancer. The RALLY Toronto will dedicate a portion of its proceeds to supporting the WMFC. James commented “ We are so excited to bring the Honda Indy Toronto out into the city with The RALLY Toronto and hope to make a great contribution to Racing for Cancer and WMFC.” The Honda Indy Toronto hits Exhibition Place July 14-16th, 2017.
