Honda Indy Toronto Doubleheader 2013 Ticket Launch

We are indeed very excited about our ticketing strategy for the 2013 Honda Indy Toronto and have released tickets for renewal customers at the end of last week.

As a valuable component to our 2012 Post Event Reports, we recognized several areas to continue to improve the overall fan experience. We reached out to our fans in October with a consumer survey that reaffirmed several key points. As such, we are focused on three key areas – the racing, the off track activities and the fan experience.

Firstly, key to our continued growth and success will be the commitment to provide the best on-track action possible. With the addition of a second full length IndyCar race at the 2013 Honda Indy Toronto we will be hosting one of the best line ups of racing anywhere in North America. Secondly, we are committed to providing a full compliment of “off track” activities including more entertainment, interactive exhibits, food and beverage options, etc. More specific details will be provided as we get closer to the race. Finally, we have endeavoured to provide all our guests with an improved grandstand viewing experience at a more affordable price.

The enhancements include the introduction of three new “super-structure” grandstands: one at Turn 10 (consolidating three smaller grandstands), a taller structure for the Dr Pepper Grandstand at Turn 11, and better sightlines and increased seating choices at Turn 3 with the addition of 15 rows. These changes will provide spectators with greater access to better views, more comfortable seating, space and security. Additionally, as the Gold and Silver grandstands both have their distinct advantages and benefits, they will now be priced in the same manner. Accordingly, they will now be renamed Pit Lane Grandstand (formerly Gold) and Start/Finish Grandstand (formerly Silver). Finally, new this year, all purchasers of upper-level seats in the Pit Lane, Start/Finish and Turn 3 Grandstands will receive a complimentary 3-day IndyCar Paddock Pass (valued at $45) included with each ticket purchase.

The new ticketing strategy is focused on simplicity and enhancing the value of the fan experience at all levels. Spectators will now have the option of five ticketed super-structure grandstands as opposed to seven smaller ones. The switch to fewer – but larger –grandstands will also open up previously occupied areas and allow General Admission ticketholders to benefit from better track viewing and more locations to enjoy the action.

The improved grandstands are part of our five-year plan that has seen us invest in the track infrastructure with new block and fence, expansion of food and beverage concessions, enhancements in hospitality suites and fan activities, while offering an increasingly exciting line-up of sanctioned racing from North America’s top racing series.

Your feedback and impassioned opinions are much appreciated and played a significant role in this new strategy. I trust you’ll be as pleased with this new approach and will encourage your friends to support the event when tickets are released to the general public on December 10.

We certainly appreciate your continued support.
