Thank You Fans!

What a spectacular Honda Indy Toronto weekend from start to finish!  It was great to see so many fans back out beginning on Fan Friday presented by our Ontario Honda Dealers to benefit Make-A-Wish Canada, and it ended with a historic victory by Scott Dixon to tie Mario Andretti at No. 2 in all-time INDYCAR SERIES wins.  We’re looking forward to 2023 with our great partners, volunteers and festival-goers back on the streets of Toronto.

More than $900,000 raised to date for Make-A-Wish® Canada as racing roars back to the streets of Toronto

Race fan generosity on full display during first Honda Indy Toronto since 2019

TORONTO (July 19, 2022) — Proving that a two-year hiatus does little to soften people’s generosity, eager race fans, Honda Canada Foundation (HCF) and the Ontario Honda Dealers Association (OHDA) came together to raise more than $84,000 for Make-A-Wish® Canada during this past weekend’s Honda Indy Toronto.

Dixon ends drought, ties Mario with commanding Toronto win

TORONTO (Sunday, July 17, 2022) – The drought finally is over for Scott Dixon.

Six-time NTT INDYCAR SERIES champion Dixon earned his first victory since May 2021 at Texas Motor Speedway – a span of 23 races, the second-longest winless streak of his illustrious career – by capturing the Honda Indy Toronto on Sunday. Dixon drove his No. 9 PNC Bank Chip Ganassi Racing Honda to a victory by .8106 of a second over Colton Herta in the No. 26 Gainbridge Honda.

Herta breaks pole logjam with blazing final lap in Toronto

TORONTO (Saturday, July 16, 2022) – Colton Herta became the first two-time pole winner this season in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES, earning the NTT P1 Award for the Honda Indy Toronto on Saturday.

Herta’s top time was 59.2698 seconds on his last flying lap in the No. 26 Gainbridge Honda, as he added this pole to his No. 1 spot at the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach in April. The first nine races of this season featured a different pole winner, and Herta was happy to spoil a chance for the INDYCAR SERIES to tie a record of 10 different pole winners to start a season set in 1952.
