The Trews to sing the national anthems during opening ceremonies for the 2015 Honda Indy Toronto

TORONTO, ON, June 8, 2015 – Organizers of the 2015 Honda Indy Toronto announce that The Trews will sing the Canadian and US national anthems during opening ceremonies for the marquee Verizon IndyCar Series race taking place Sunday, June 14.

Award-winning Canadian rock stars and legendary live band, The Trews, have been in the spotlight since their debut album, House of Ill Fame (2003). Since then, they have released five albums and hold 16 top 10 Canadian radio singles, earning them a well-deserved place in the rock-and-roll spotlight.

“The Trews are a great representation of Canadian musical achievement,” said Charlie Johnstone, President of the Honda Indy Toronto. “Having a band that's from our own backyard performing the national anthems is a really symbolic way to kick-off the race. ”
