Single-day tickets to the 2012 Honda Indy Toronto on sale now

June 1, 2012 (Toronto, ON) - Single-day tickets to the 2012 Honda Indy Toronto, taking place July 6-8, are now on sale.

Race fans have the opportunity to now purchase reserved grandstand seating, general admission tickets, paddock passes and parking passes for Saturday or Sunday only. Tickets and passes can be purchased online at www.hondaindytoronto.com/tickets or by phone at 1-877-503-6869. Tickets start as low as $30 for adults and $15 for juniors.

The 2012 event will feature some of the best racing North America has to offer. The IZOD IndyCar Series will make its first Canadian stop in Toronto and will bring along with it some of the biggest names in motorsports, including Dario Franchitti, 2011 Champion and three-time Indy 500 Winner; Will Power, two-time winner at Toronto; Graham Rahal, son of Bobby Rahal; and homegrown favourites Alex Tagliani of Montreal and James Hinchcliffe of Toronto.

The event will also include the Ferrari Challenge for a second-consecutive year. The exotic car race allows Ferrari owners and enthusiasts to see the legendary cars in their natural environment – the race track. The series features Canadian business mogul and star of CBC’s Dragons’ Den Robert Herjavec, who is currently leading the series in points.

“We are excited for this year’s event and we know that the people of Toronto are too,” said Charlie Johnstone, Vice President and General Manager of the Honda Indy Toronto. “Our team has been hard at work securing great activities for fans to enjoy on and off the track. There will be no shortage of entertainment and fun for people of all ages this year at the Honda Indy Toronto.”

The Honda Indy Toronto will also be the first Canadian tour stop for Firestone Indy Lights and the Star Mazda Championship. Both series are part of the ‘Road to Indy’, a premier development ladder for drivers and teams working to compete in the IZOD IndyCar Series.

Single-day reserved grandstand tickets start at $60 on Saturday and $65 for Sunday. Juniors can take advantage of discounted tickets, starting at $50 on Saturday and $55 for Sunday’s race. General admission passes start as low as $30 for adults and $15 for juniors. For the third year in a row, fans can enjoy the opening day of racing on ‘Free Friday’, courtesy of the Ontario Honda Dealers Association. In lieu of admission, attendees are encouraged to donate onsite to Make-A-Wish Canada and all donations will be matched dollar-for-dollar by Honda Canada.
