Construction of the 2013 Honda Indy Toronto street course is underway

TORONTO, ON, June 5, 2013 - Today, organizers of the Honda Indy Toronto kicked-off construction of its famous street course at Exhibition Place. For the first time, the track build will take place at night from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. to minimize disruptions for commuters. The 11-turn race track will take approximately six weeks to complete and will be ready just in time for two IndyCar races, on July 13 and 14.

The Honda Indy Toronto takes place July 12-14 on the streets surrounding Exhibition Place in downtown Toronto. For the first time in event history, the IZOD IndyCar Series will compete on-track twice in one weekend, racing for championship points both Saturday and Sunday of the event weekend.  This summer’s event has a new identity, combining  a rich history in Toronto and some of the fastest racing series on the planet, with an off-track schedule that includes a festival of craft beer and food, adrenaline-packed stunt shows and competitions, charity events, celebrity appearances, interactive activities and live entertainment.
