TORONTO, ON – December 22, 2025 – The Canadian Motorsport Hall of Fame (CMHF) today announced Kim Green and Kevin Savoree, co-founders of Green Savoree Racing Promotions, as the International Inductees for the Class of 2025.
The CMHF’s International Inductee honour recognizes non-Canadians whose contributions have had a lasting impact on motorsport in Canada. CMHF Board Chair Peter Lockhart said Green and Savoree’s induction reflects their singular role in preserving one of the country’s most important racing traditions.
“Since 2009, Kim Green and Kevin Savoree have been directly responsible for keeping IndyCar racing in Canada,” said Lockhart. “Their leadership provided long-term stability for the Toronto race and continues to secure Canada’s place on the IndyCar calendar. Their induction into the Hall of Fame reflects the scale and significance of that contribution.”
After the final CART/Champ Car event in Toronto in 2007 left the race without a future, Green and Savoree acquired its promotional assets and restored it to the IndyCar calendar in 2009. For the past 15 years, they have produced and promoted the Toronto race, and in doing so have provided continuity for the series in Canada. In 2026, that work continues as the event moves to Markham, positioning IndyCar for its next phase in the Canadian market.
Green and Savoree began working together in 1993 as senior team principals at Team Green, owned by Kim Green’s brother Barry Green. Their partnership produced championship success at the sport’s highest levels, including Indianapolis 500 victories, series titles, and race wins in Toronto, working with drivers such as Jacques Villeneuve, Michael Andretti, Dario Franchitti, Tony Kanaan, and Dan Wheldon.
As their competitive careers evolved, the duo expanded into promotion in the mid-2000s. Their work included launching IndyCar’s street race in St. Petersburg in 2005, which marked a significant shift from team leadership to event promotion.
Reflecting on the honour, Kim Green, co-owner, chairman and CEO of Green Savoree Racing Promotions, emphasized the people behind the achievements. “Being inducted into the Canadian Motorsport Hall of Fame is a great honour and truly humbling,” said Green. “I share this recognition with everyone who has been part of this incredible journey.”
Beyond Canada and St. Petersburg, Green Savoree Racing Promotions owns and promotes events at Portland International Raceway and Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, which Green and Savoree purchased in 2011.
“I’m truly honoured to be inducted into the Canadian Motorsport Hall of Fame,” said Kevin Savoree, co-owner, president and COO of Green Savoree Racing Promotions. “This recognition reflects not just our work, but the unwavering dedication of our Green Savoree team, our partners and our fans who share our same passion for motorsports.”
Green and Savoree will be formally inducted as International Inductees with the Canadian Motorsport Hall of Fame Class of 2025 during the Induction Gala, taking place February 21, 2026, at the John Bassett Theatre in Toronto during the Canadian International Auto Show.
