TORONTO, ON, June 27, 2016 — The 2016 Honda Indy Toronto is just a couple weeks away and taking GO Transit will be among the easiest ways to get to and from Exhibition Place during the race weekend. Race fans travelling to and from the event can enjoy 30-minute service on GO Transit’s Lakeshore lines throughout the event weekend, July 15-17.

 

Guests under 12 years old will have the opportunity to enjoy free train and bus trips to the event, when accompanied by an adult with an event ticket and valid GO fare. Additionally, event volunteers will also be granted complimentary rides, with a valid credential, throughout the weekend.

A Design an IndyCar contest was held from May 8-22, open to children 12 years old and under. Today, the winning design by 10-year-old William from Ajax was revealed at an event at Union Station. The show car will visit special events throughout the city thanks to a tour brought to life by Chemical Guys Canada, a company that specializes in professional auto detailing supplies and car wash chemicals, which will include stops at GO stations in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area this month.

 

Metrolinx will also have a presence onsite during the festival weekend with an interactive and educational Light Rail Vehicle Exhibit in the Speed Zone that kids and adults alike can enjoy.

 

Tickets to the event are available now and start at $40 for general admission and kids under 12 are free with a ticket holding adult. Admission is free for all on July 15 for Fan Friday with a voluntary donation to Make-A-Wish Canada, thanks to the Ontario Honda Dealers Association.
