Centerplate Gives Race Fans a Taste of Ontario at Honda Indy Toronto

TORONTO, ON, July 17, 2014 — For race fans and food lovers, there is a lot to celebrate off the track this year at the 2014 Honda Indy Toronto, taking place July 18-20, thanks to Centerplate, the hospitality partner for the event. The annual racing festival is among North America’s top Verizon IndyCar Series races, and is expected to draws tens of thousands of race fans from around the world. Local residents and visitors alike can fuel up on lots of great-tasting locally- sourced products on the menu.

“The Honda Indy Toronto is one of the most exciting events to host because it’s such a high energy spectacle, right in the middle of the summer, and we are able to showcase great local products and foster a real festival atmosphere,” said Ashton Sequeira, Regional Vice-President of Centerplate.

The hospitality at this year’s event will include special suite areas, and high-octane general admissions offerings from the area’s best producers. Highlighting suite menus are a variety of the region’s best fresh produce and locally-sourced products. Some of the items include:

  • “Ontario is Roasting Salad” with fresh Prince Edward County corn, asparagus, Niagara peaches, Wellington County double-smoked bacon, penne, olive oil and fresh lemon juice
  • Tender slow-braised Wellington County Beef Short Ribs
  • Willowgrove Hill Farms Pulled Pork Sandwiches in House-smoked BBQ Sauce 


Beer lovers can sample from a selection of five brews each from local craft breweries Muskoka Brewery and Amsterdam Brewery, both official sponsors of Honda Indy Toronto. 
For race fans taking a break from the action on the track, highlights in the Taste Fest Beer Garden include Southwestern Ontario’s favorite local products and food trucks.
