Media and the general public are invited to a special event that will begin the 25-day countdown to the 2011 edition of the Honda Indy Toronto. The event will mark 25 years of racing on the streets of Toronto. Festivities will take place on Wednesday, June 15 as Bloor Street shifts into race mode with an IndyCar-themed party featuring 2011 Indy 500 pole winner Alex Tagliani, in front of William Ashley’s flagship location at 55 Bloor Street West.

June 3, 2011 (Toronto) – Single-day reserved grandstand and single-day general admission tickets to the 2011 Honda Indy Toronto are now available to the public. In celebration of 25 years of racing in the streets of Toronto, this is the first time the event has ever released single-day tickets. With just over a month to go until the IZOD IndyCar Series pays a visit to Toronto, fans can secure their spots at this year’s event by purchasing tickets online or by phone at 1-877-503-6869. Tickets start as low as $30 for adults and $15 for juniors.

Members of the media are invited to join representatives of Green Savoree Toronto ULC, Honda Canada and professional race car drivers to mark the beginning of construction of the track that will be used in the Honda Indy Toronto. The 2011 track build falls on the heels of a major investment announced last year, which includes a contribution of $772,000 from FedDev Ontario.
